Spring is in! That means Spring Cleaning!
Moving into your new home should be a very exciting time. If you’re newlyweds, WELCOME ABOARD! 😁 If you’ve been in this for some time or simply looking for some hacks on maintaining your existing then you’ve found the right place.

When we first moved into our apartment, there were a few things I wish I had stocked beforehand, had I known the great effect they would’ve had in and around our new house. Now nearly 3 years in, these products are still staples in our pantry, so I hope that this list can help you too!

Here’s a list of my 5 MUST haves in your pantry:

Lemons. These are great for organic cleaning, the body all-round freshness. One our mentors told us about using half a lemon with warm water each morning to cleanse the body of any toxins and preparing you for the day ahead – it works wonders! I’ve definitely felt the difference in my tummy, it almost feels as though my stomach is more open and ready to eat a hearty breakfast. Additionally, when you’re mopping, wiping down surface areas or washing the dishes you can squeeze a few drops of lemon juice into the water or onto your cloth and it gives a fresh scent and thoroughly clean.

Baking Soda. You know lime and scum has a habit of leaving that icky white residue on your faucets and stainless steels? Use about 2 oz of baking soda and vigorously rub it directly onto the faucet. Wipe away with a damp cloth afterward to reveal your lime and scum free sink as good as new! Also, works wonders for unclogging shower drains. 2 oz Baking Soda to 3 oz vinegar, pour baking soda first then pour vinegar directly down the drain. Wash down any excess and you’re good to flow!

Apple Cider Vinegar. If you’re out of lemons, you can use Apple Cider Vinegar with warm water for your morning shot. This type of vinegar also works great as a facial astringent once diluted and helps to rid dark marks, spots, and blemishes. If you have bentonite clay, you can mix it with the apple cider vinegar to create a deep cleansing mask that draws impurities out of the skin.

Ginger. For all things, cold and flu virus. If you purchase fresh ginger you can grate it and steep in some boiling water. Ginger saved our lives at the beginning of marriage when Chris was ill with a gastro bug. While attending to him, I found that even though he didn’t have much appetite, the ginger made him feel times better and it helped calm me as well.

Vinegar. This is a double whammy winner in my book because it marinates our meats well but it also cleans our home just as good or even better. We really try to use as many organic methods and products as possible, so when mopping or cleaning up – I add vinegar to warm water and it strips down tough marks and grease stains easily. Plus hubby’s sinuses are usually triggered by strong scents so sometimes using household cleaning agents can cause his to go off on a tizzy. Vinegar doesn’t give him any trouble at all.

These are a few of the secret weapons that saved us early out the gate and have since, become staples in our pantry. Our shopping list and pantry is incomplete without these super wonders.

Hope this helps and happy shopping! 😊

I absolutely love this. I was unaware of apple cider vinegar as an astringent. I am definitely going to try this.
